Gran Canaria Airport (Las Palmas) is Spain's fifth busiest airport and by far the busiest airport in the
Canary Islands.

Over 10.3 million passengers and 114,351 flights passed through the airport in 2007 with over two million of those passengers going to and from other Canary Islands.

In Spanish the airport is known as Aeropuerto de Gran Canaria and in German it is Gran Canaria Flughafen.

Other Islands

Fuerteventura Airport is located right beside the sea and only 10 minutes from the popular tourist resort of Caleta de Fuste. The airport received just over 4.6 million passengers in 2007 and handled 44,871 flight operations. A large number of these passengers come from the UK, Germany and other EU countries as well as the Spanish mainland.

Lanzarote Airport (Arrecife) is a modern building with a wide variety of shops and attractions within the
terminal building. Those arriving have a good selection of car hire facilities ranging from popular names
such as Avis and Hertz right through to local companies such as Cabrera Medina. Taxi queues can be long
so often a good idea to send one of your party ahead to get you a place in the line.

Those flying in to Tenerife have a wide variety of flights from the UK to choose from. Two airports,
Tenerife North (Los Rodeos) and Tenerife South (Reina Sofia), serve the islands although the island in the
south is more popular and is actually the 7th busiest airport in Spain. Tenerife North Airport is less well
known and a lot less used by foreign travellers.
